At Last! Pita Pit Opens First Hawaii Restaurant
(Honolulu, Hawaii, July 23, 2019) – Pita Pit, the fresh-thinking global fast-food restaurant franchise celebrates on July 26 and 27 the Grand Opening of its first Hawaii restaurant, located on Kapahulu Ave., Honolulu, in front of the Safeway supermarket.
Fresh Thinking, Healthy Eating is at the heart of Pita Pit’s operation and it is exemplified in the appetizing variety of fresh, healthy, lean, low carb pitas and salads on the menu. The tasty pita wraps include popular choices like the fresh-grilled Chicken Caesar Pita, the Greek-style Gyro Pita, the Hummus Pita and the Aloha Pita.
Pita Pit Honolulu owner Justin Petersen said, “As franchisees of the new Pita Pit in Hawaii, my two partners and I found what we feel is the perfect combination of great healthy food, energetic and quick service, and delicious flavorful choices for any palate.” He added, “We are all doctors and are constantly teaching our patients about holistic and healthy lifestyle choices to improve their quality of life, so the Pita Pit concept was a natural for us.”
Founded in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, in 1995, Pita Pit spread its wings across the border into the United States in 1999, at a time when people were beginning to look for fresh and healthier fast-food options, and now there are more than 210 locations in 44 states.
Joni Hay-Smith, Marketing Brand Manager for Pita Pit Inc., said, “With more than 580 locations across 12 countries, we are excited to open the first Hawaii Pita Pit franchise and offer a healthy fast-food alternative with delicious, tasty, low-carb, locally sourced options for those with an active lifestyle.” She added, “Our pitas are the perfect grab-and-go snack or meal for the beach and Hawaii’s outdoor lifestyle.”
Today the Pita Pit franchise is truly global and contributes positively to the communities they serve.
Petersen said, “ During our Grand Opening celebrations we are proud and honored to collaborate with and support Special Olympics Hawaii.” He added, “Pita Pit will donate ten percent of profits from all sales made on July 26 and 27 to help support the more than 4,700 Special Olympics athletes and Unified Partners throughout Hawaii.”
